Information for early, past and future graduates

Application fees explained

Will I have to pay my ASU graduation application fee twice? No.

Whether you are graduating early, on time or in the future, you only pay your ASU graduation application fee one time, when you apply to graduate. This fee pays for your diploma, diploma case, honor cords, etc. Basically, this is your fee to complete your degree

There is no cost to participate in the Fulton Schools Convocation ceremonies, regardless of when you pay your ASU graduation application fee. The two are unrelated.

Need to walk during a different semester than when you graduate? Here’s how.

First, which graduate are you?

Past graduates

I finished my degree in the past, but want to walk in ceremonies this semester.

You are a past graduate.

Summer graduates

I am finishing my degree this summer, but want to walk in the spring ceremony.

You are a summer graduate.

Early graduates

I am finishing my degree this fall, but want to walk in the spring ceremony.

You are an early graduate.

Future graduates

I am finishing my degree this semester, but want to walk in a future ceremony.

You are a future graduate.

Past graduates

Past grads may walk in a future ceremony!

Things happen. Travel plans get cancelled. Visas take time. Lots of life events can change your graduation plans!

Do not fear. Fulton Schools students have up to two (2) years to participate in a Convocation ceremony after their planned graduation date.

So if you graduated in Spring 2023 or later, request to participate before April 1, 2025.

Request participation in Spring 2025 ceremonies

Special case: 2020 and Spring 2021 Graduates

If you are a student who graduated in 2020 or Spring of 2021 (when we had online-only Convocation ceremonies) and you have not yet participated in a ceremony, you may request to participate in any future ceremony.

Once you have “walked” (physically participated) in a ceremony, you may not participate in another.

Request to participate by April 1, 2025.

  • Have 12 credit hours or fewer left at the end of Spring 2025 semester.

Future graduates

You can graduate now and walk up to two years later!

As a Fulton Schools graduate, you may participate (“walk”) in a future Engineering Convocation ceremony but only within two years of the semester in which you earned your degree.

For example, if you graduate in Spring 2025, you can participate in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

To participate in walk in a future ceremony, return to this website at the beginning of the semester in which you want to walk. Then request participation as a past graduate.

Check your asu.edu email

ASU and the Fulton Schools will use your asu.edu email address for all graduation and Convocation communications.

Purchase your regalia
